HELLO, AND WELCOME TO THE BOOK ON THE HILL!
Who's The Blogger?
I'm Charlotte, a half-French half-English 27 year old girl living in France.
I’m a performer (theater/music), and a professional reader and translator for a French publishing house. Occasionally, I am also a moviemaker and self-taught graphic designer. :)
What Can You Find On My Blog?
Reviews : The books I review here are mainly YA and middle grade books.
French Friday : It's a weekly feature where I write about French bookish things.
Book Blogging Around the World : Another weekly featured featuring a blogger.
Contests : From time to time, I hold contests to thank my readers and followers!
I also did a few interviews of authors and bloggers, which you can find here.
Why Start a Blog?
When I discovered the existence of book blogs, I was amazed not only by the number of them but also by the passion and talent all the book bloggers share. I think it's fascinating, and very useful for any reader who wonders what book she/he will read next. With the pile of books I read, I thought it would be a good contribution. So I created this blog to share my passion of reading, to connect with other bloggers and to share reviews of books I read for work.
Why The Title?
After having spent hours looking for a title, I thought about those titles that use sayings or song lyrics and mix them with other words. Being a fan of The Beatles, I took their songs' listing and tried to play with the titles. I ended up with a really cool list and had trouble choosing. But it was "The Book on the Hill" (original title : "The Fool on the Hill") that won! I love that song, and I thought it made a cute title.
